Design is particularly important when planning an event. It is not only essential to ensure colours complement each other and work with the chosen theme, but that planners and event managers keep up to date with the latest design trends. There have been many developments in the events world that have influenced design. More than ever before people are seeking interesting and unique locations for the ultimate ‘wow’ factor and the design style you choose needs to match the choice of venue.
We are inspired by so many different types of design and often get inspiration from other blogs, design sources and image galleries. Here are some autumn winter design trends that are set to take this season by storm and things we which feel can always guarantee a unique edge for any celebration:
Into the Woods
Woodland tones are very on trend with oranges, greens, mustards and copper colours storming the design world. Pink is also the new black and the mix of lighter hues work to soften the richer tones. Think autumn leaves and chestnut trees! Copperware mixed with glassware is all the rage and offers a modern twist on tradition.
As we edge closer to Christmas, it is not surprising that one of this years’ autumn and winter colour trends is gold. A classic combination making a comeback is white, gold and green, not just any green but woodland green. These colours work well together to create a classy opulent theme that could grace any event or wedding.
50 Shades of Grey
There is a lot of grey around at the moment, perfect for the modern, minimalist look. Blue tones and other soft hues are also in season and work very well with a wide range of colours. Statement pieces create impact with mustard plates or centrepieces offering a striking contrast against grey tables and tablecloths.
Midnight Blue and Matte Black
Black is back! Well it never really went away, but it is making a noise this season. Both midnight blue and matte black are colours that scream glamour and mixed with golds and copper accessories they can really add opulence. Think gold plates and black napkins.
Velvet and Fur Fabrics
It is not just colour combinations that need to be considered when it comes to event design but textures. A very popular fabric at the moment is velvet which is the ultimate in comfortable chic. Velvet tablecloths could be used for food stations for a very sensual look. Over the last few years weddings have moved away from the traditional sit down dinner to a more relaxed fluid cocktail style reception. Grazing stations provide a wonderful space for creative inspiration with each space complimenting the overall theme. Faux fur is also making waves. Fur throws are perfect for those cold winter nights and could warm any event.
