London is known for its nooks and crannies, tumbling hidden pathways and range of intimate historical venues. In our opinion there is nothing quite like an intimate event experience where you can truly make an impact for your guests, but there is also something equally appealing when throwing a supersonic, smack in the face, huge party – after all they do say bigger is always better. But where can you combine fantastic design potential within a venue large enough to house 300 plus guests? Do you need to allow for a compromise in production possibilities just to appease a great number of people? NO! There are some fantastic large capacity venues in London that offer both space and style, all everything in between. Here are some that are hot on the market right now:

Printworks

If you haven’t been down to this giant of a venue yet then you are missing out. It is marvellous and its potential is huge, not only due to its ability to host a vast amount of people, but also because of its history, architecture and plethora of blank canvas spaces that can be used to any designer’s advantage. It is one of those spaces that will leave your jaw on the floor. Watch this space as it is fast becoming the venue to host in.

Roundhouse

Although availability is easily gobbled up by this venue’s world class public programme, you could be lucky enough to find a date that you can squeeze into and showcase an event that is both grand in size and theatrical flair. An in-the-round style venue, The Roundhouse is ideal for both parties and large scale dinners, performances and gigs. It may be tucked away in Camden, but it is well worth the small commute.

Central Saint Martin’s, Granary Building

Only open to corporate event enquiries, the Granary Building of Central Saint Martin’s art school is a wonder for the eyes. The towering building overlooks the splendid Regent’s Canal, in the hustle and bustle of King’s Cross area. You will need to negotiate on dates as spaces are generally only available outside of term time, but for the right enquiry this venue can be the star in the studded sky.

Syon Park

Effortless beauty awaits any bride and groom looking for that quintessential garden style wedding. Based in West London, this venue is perfect for both intimate and large scale private parties and wedding celebrations. Make use of the interior spaces, so as the glorious pavilion, or stage a spectacular soiree in the external marquee. A feast for the senses!

One Marylebone

Part of the One Events group of venues, One Marylebone is a true hit with both corporate and private clients alike. The interiors of this converted, deconsecrated church are beautiful, with room to seat large groups of guests across multiple levels. This grandiose venue has a charm that brings together intimacy and capacity in equal measure.

Royal Horticultural Halls

Part of the Royal Horticultural Society, based in Pimlico, the Royal Horticultural Hall offers an abundance of opportunities for a range of events. This space is large, has full production potential and fantastic site lines. Their internal production spec is fantastic and there are plenty of opportunities to build large showcases within this venue, including rigging from the roof and including suspended, dramatic entertainers. Go visit!

Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, Somerset House

For those of you, like us, who love classical architecture and the opportunity to entertain alfresco, the Courtyard at Somerset House is like no other venue. Amuse your guests by incorporating the legendary fountains into your event, which can be surrounded by a glass marquee or smaller, pop-up style structures. To make this space even more appealing, you will be spoilt for choice with the fantastic and intelligent LED lighting installation that is in situ around the building. This option is true sophistication at its best.
