Climb Through The Wardrobe or Eavesdrop on The Ghost of Christmas Past in Our Immersive Christmas Worlds

Christmas is a time to celebrate, to reflect, and to come together to create magical moments and unforgettable memories that last a lifetime. Especially if we have anything to do with it!

↓

An immersive Christmas world is a Christmas story built as a place: the set constructed, the cast rehearsed, and the whole thing made for your guests rather than hired in.

Dickens to Home Alone, The Nutcracker to Santa’s Grotto, all turned immersive and given that extra magical sparkle. All formats work, and it is for everyone who celebrates the festive season.

The Events Mill is an event design and production company. We are the agency responsible for the whole thing — the concept, the design, the build, the styling and props, the performance and the production — which is why the worlds on this page are places that did not exist until we made them.

Go All Out

Throw an immersive Christmas party

You never need to apologise to add that extra mile of sparkle when planning an immersive Christmas, and at The Events Mill we have a troupe of elves on loan from Lapland to spin your very own snow globe fantasy. Whether you wish upon the North Star to step through the wardrobe and find yourself in a wintry wonderland straight out of Narnia, where snow crunches underfoot, lampposts glow with a soft, magical light, and Mr. Tumnus offers you a cocktail *ahem* (we mean a cup of tea).

Or perhaps you’d prefer a quiet moment to eavesdrop on the Ghost of Christmas Past, who might spill a few secrets from Christmases gone by, that’s if you can catch him between hauntings. This immersive experience brings classic Christmas tales to life with nostalgic details and huge dollop of whimsy, where we invite you to wander between worlds and relive the magic of stories that have stood the test of time in an immersive Christmas through the ages.

The Mission

Outwit the wet bandits

Home Alone isn’t just a movie — it’s a lifestyle. And with our help you could turn it into the ultimate immersive Christmas experience. Forget the typical Christmas party with eggnog and carol singers, this is a war zone of booby traps, mischievous tricks, and a countdown to survival. The mission? Outwit the “wet bandits” and navigate through Kevin’s house of horrors, all while stuffing your face with pizza (but remember, no one’s touching Kevin’s plain cheese!).

Elevating design with the real thing

Authenticity is key to any immersive design. If we’re producing Home Alone, it’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight onto the Home Alone set. From Kevin’s iconic battle plan (which you’ll need if you want to survive) to the infamous aftershave scene, everything’s there. Oh, and food? Forget dainty finger sandwiches. We’re talking mountains of pizza, ice cream sundae bars, and maybe even a festive Pepsi chugging contest, because who cares about sugar highs when you’re trying to outsmart two crooks?

And let’s be honest, what’s Christmas without a little mayhem? Your guests will be laughing, running, and dodging Kevin’s devious pranks the whole way through. Plus, the best part? It’s all fun and games — no actual wet bandits, promise.

So, grab your friends, suit up in your best “battle” gear (or ugly Christmas sweater, whatever works), and get ready for the most epic Christmas party ever. It’s a party Kevin McCallister would be proud of. And who knows, you might even survive it.

Dickens Turned Immersive

Step into the heart of Dickensian London

Imagine, for instance, an immersive retelling of Charles Dicken’s ‘A Christmas Carol,’ where your guests step into the very heart of Dickensian London. Every corner, every object, every detail designed to transport them into a rich, multilayered world of Christmas past, present, and future. The air would shimmer with nostalgia as guests enter Scrooge’s candlelit counting house, or gather for a feast as grand as the one in the Cratchit household (with a goose so fine that Tiny Tim himself would be cheering).

Interactive Theatrical Moments

Surprise visits from the spirits of Christmas

But this isn’t just a feast — oh no! In true Dickensian fashion, we’re pulling out all the stops to create interactive theatrical moments. Expect surprise visits from the spirits of Christmas! Watch in awe as the Ghost of Christmas Past sweeps guests into an icy wonderland of nostalgia, filled with winter treats and Victorian elegance. Then, as the clock strikes, the Ghost of Christmas Present opens an immersive space revealing a banquet worthy of London’s finest, overflowing with festive delicacies that would make even Scrooge smile.

Yet To Come

A dessert parlour as mysterious as it is decadent

And just when everyone thinks they’ve had their fill, it plunges into the eerie, smoky mist as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come leads guests to a dessert parlour that’s as mysterious as it is decadent. Perhaps guests will ponder their future, but one thing’s for certain: it will involve chocolate, and an alcohol cloud, and lots of olfactory mystique.

Multisensory Dining, Elevating Your Christmas Dinner

The Last Page

And when it draws to a close, the transformation is complete: even the most miserly of guests will leave with their hearts and stomachs full, brimming with the festive spirit and memories of something enchanting where stories, nostalgia, and the magic of Christmas came to life in ways only The Events Mill can create.

Our Aesthetic Specialism

Detailed, multilayered, and nostalgic

This is storytelling at its finest: layered, meaningful, and unforgettable. At every step, we recreate the kind of immersive experience that bridges fantasy and reality, making sure every guest feels like they’ve walked into the pages of a beloved novel. Just imagine wandering through sets of Victorian Christmas trees, flickering lanterns, and cobblestone streets straight out of 19th-century London.

We love to tell stories exactly as they were meant to be experienced, especially when it comes to bringing beloved classics to life. If you’re dreaming of bringing a particular theme to your event, well, we will work like Santa’s elves, but with a bit more flair to make it a reality.

Do We Plan Corporate Events?

Yes — but not the typical way

Many of our clients opt for our all-inclusive services, where we design, plan, and pull every last string to create a celebration so seamless, it feels like magic. We’ll stick to your brief and budget, of course, but let’s be clear — at heart, we’re a creative agency, and we bring the full force of our imagination to every project.

While we craft luxurious experiences with uncompromising quality, we are not your typical corporate agency. You won’t find us cutting corners, and we’re certainly not the cheapest option, but like a much cooler, party-planning version of Ebenezer Scrooge (post-ghosts, naturally), we’ll ensure your investment is spent wisely, making every penny count towards an unforgettable experience.

Our Luxury Event Planners

Where Could This Take Place?

Almost anywhere we can make dark, warm and convincing

An immersive Christmas needs a space we can take over completely, not a room with decorations in it. Six kinds of building do it well.

  • An empty warehouse

The best Christmas venue there is, because nothing has to be hidden. Four walls, a floor and a roof — everything a guest sees is something we made.

  • Arches, vaults and cellars

Cold brick, low ceilings and a long dark passage. Victorian winter already exists underneath most cities; it mainly wants candlelight and snow.

  • A building with its own history

A great hall, a livery company, a college dining room. Half the atmosphere is already there, and the craft is knowing what to leave alone.

  • An empty shop

Where The Little Treasured Toyshop lived. A dark unit on a real street, lit up for four weeks, with a queue outside it.

  • A structure built in the grounds

When there is no room indoors, we bring the room. A temporary build in a garden, a courtyard or a car park — weatherproof, warm, and snowing inside.

  • Your own building

The floor your people work on, unrecognisable by the time the first guest arrives, and a workplace again on Monday morning.

If you already have somewhere in mind, we will tell you honestly what it can take — the ceiling height, the power, the get-in, the fire strategy. If you do not, finding it is part of the job.

What It Costs

It’s important to differentiate what we do and where our specialism lies, because we are not a corporate Christmas event planner that can offer a £120 per head service for 200 people.

If you are considering producing an immersive Christmas installation, a guideline investment between £50,000 and £300,000 would enable us to consider an exciting production for you — and then you should put your price-per-head on top.

  • A piece of itfrom £5,000

One space dressed, props and styling.

  • Theme, design and entertainmentfrom £50,000

A compelling theme, the design to carry it, and immersive entertainment through it.

  • A fully immersive world£500,000 upwards

A Christmas world built whole, with your price per head on top.

When To Start

Start the year before

Christmas is the one date nobody can move, so every venue, crew and maker is booked in the same few weeks — and an immersive Christmas is a build, not a booking.

  • Nine to twelve months

Comfortable. Time to design it properly, secure the space, and build without cutting anything short.

  • Six months

Tight, and it has been done. Expect the design to move faster and the choice of venue to be narrower.

  • Under three months

A different conversation. We will tell you honestly what is still possible at that point, and what is not.

After You Write In

How a Christmas world gets made

  1. 1

    Enquiry

Send us the date, the number of guests and the shape of the idea.

  2. 2

    Consultation

We meet to discuss your plans and to fully understand your vision and what you want your experience to feel like on the day. Practical details are also discussed.

  3. 3

    Development

Our in-house creative, design and planning team fully develop a response in line with your brief.

  4. 4

    The answer

We will tell you honestly what it takes to make it, and what it will cost to make it well.

Practical

Before the first light goes up

  • Built, not hired

The set, the props and the costume are made for this story rather than pulled off a shelf, which is why it holds up when somebody walks right up to it.

    Who makes it
  • A cast, rehearsed

Actors are cast, rehearsed and directed, and they stay in the world for as long as you are in it.

    Who you meet
  • Every dietary requirement

Wherever there is a table, there is a kitchen. Every cuisine and every dietary requirement is accommodated, with stringent processes for allergens and cultural preferences, and every request taken extremely seriously.

Questions

The questions we are asked every autumn

  • Where can an immersive Christmas experience be held?

Almost anywhere we can take over completely: an empty warehouse, railway arches or vaults, a building with its own history such as a great hall or livery company, an empty shop, a temporary structure built in the grounds, or your own offices. If you have a space we will tell you what it can take; if you do not, finding it is part of the job.

  • When should we start planning a Christmas experience?

Start the year before. Christmas is the one date nobody can move, so venues, crew and makers are all booked in the same few weeks, and an immersive Christmas is a build rather than a booking. Nine to twelve months is comfortable, six months is tight but has been done, and under three months is a different conversation — we will tell you honestly what is still possible.

  • What is an immersive Christmas world?

A Christmas party built as a place rather than a room. Guests walk into a story — Dickensian London, Kevin McCallister’s house, Narnia through the wardrobe — and the set, the cast, the food and the sound all belong to it.

  • Which Christmas worlds can you build?

Dickens to Home Alone, The Nutcracker to Santa’s Grotto, all turned immersive and given that extra magical sparkle. Or a story of your own.

  • Do you plan corporate Christmas parties?

Yes, and we are not your typical corporate agency. We won’t cut corners and we’re certainly not the cheapest option, but we will make every penny count towards an unforgettable experience.

  • What does an immersive Christmas cost?

We are not a corporate Christmas planner offering a £120 per head service for 200 people. For an immersive Christmas installation, a guideline investment between £50,000 and £300,000 lets us consider an exciting production, and your price-per-head goes on top.

  • How authentic are the sets and the props?

Authenticity is key to any immersive design. If we’re producing Home Alone, it’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight onto the Home Alone set — props, memorabilia and the film’s own snacks included.

  • Do we bring the story, or do you write it?

Either way works. We love to tell stories exactly as they were meant to be experienced; if you are dreaming of a particular theme, we will work like Santa’s elves to make it a reality.
