Immersive Gastronomic Worlds
A Story Told In Courses
Immersive Gastronomic Worlds
Discover inspiration below, from an immersive gastronomic adventure of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Marie Antoinette’s French Revolution.
An immersive gastronomic world is a food experience built around a story: each course a chapter, the place the setting, and the cast, the scent and the sound belonging to the same world as the food. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Marie Antoinette, Pan’s Labyrinth — or a story of your own.
An immersive gastronomic world is a meal built inside a story: the menu written to the plot, the place built around the table, and the cast serving as characters.

Gastronomic Greats
Out with Mediocre Meals and In with Gastronomic Greats
Out with the bland, in with the gastronomy-bold – prepare for dining experiences like no other! Imagine taste adventures where sizzling flavours from historic worlds collide on your plate, sparking a symphony of sensations, and your palate leaps to life.
But what makes it elevated? Of course, it’s not just about the food – this is dining shot out of a glass ceiling, like Charlie in his Great Glass Elevator, to an immersive spectacle.

Cuisine and exploration weave together to create unforgettable, immersive experiences. Culinary moments go beyond meals – they’re portals to other worlds where time, tradition, and flavour collide. At The Events Mill, we blend provenance, storytelling, and cuisine to give classic tales a delicious twist, bottled and served as a true gastronomic adventure. And if you don’t believe us, just ask the Oompa Loompas!
Each bite, each sip, takes you deeper into the soul of a place, revealing hidden wonders that words alone just can’t capture. You have to experience it to believe it.

The Invitation
It begins before they arrive.
An immersive invitation, made in the studio: a box with a printed lid, our own booklet inside it, and a miniature bookcase filled with props from the world it is inviting you into. The invitation is the first scene, not a card.

The Events Meal
Our Imaginative Dining Service
The drawing beside this The wedding at Versailles, in the Hall of Mirrors.
Our catering service is famous, much like the chefs we work with and the characters we craft our menus around. Whether you choose an Alice in Wonderland brunch or afternoon tea with Marie Antoinette, we’ll create something you’ve never seen before.
And yes, Marie Antoinette lost her head, probably because she kept all that cake to herself – but don’t worry, we’re not about to repeat history! We believe your pleasure is far more important than guarding our secret stash of pastries. When it comes to dining, we’re all about sharing the deliciousness. Introducing The Events Meal, our catering service.
The Events Meal, Immersive Food Design — We don’t just create sensational menus, but we dress tables and create epic designs that bring our narratives to life.

Fit For Royalty
Experience Fit For Royalty
Picture this: an experience where every bite is as extravagant as a royal banquet, and every macaroon comes with a dash of wit and a whole lot of flair.
We don’t just serve food, we create imaginative dining where the details are as precise as the clock face of Notre Dame de Paris, and the flavours, well – they’ll make you feel like you’ve been crowned Royalty.
Fantastical Food Fiction
Mysteries, Fantasies, Epics and Classic Fiction Brought to Life in Food
Enter a world where food and fantasy collide. Inspired by Pan’s Labyrinth, this is more than a meal – it’s a journey through story, myth, and imagination.
Dine beneath ancient Spanish trees, surrounded by whispers of folklore and forgotten rituals. Each course is a chapter, each bite a portal – an otherworldly connection to the land, the sea, and the spirits of Spain.
The story that follows Or experience the majestic Pan’s Labyrinth, in a multi-course taste adventure in post-war Spain, a fantastical world, where a young girl named Ofelia encounters a faun and embarks on a mythical quest.

Scene One
Into the Labyrinth
Your journey begins in a shadowed forest. A lantern-lit path winds through towering trees, the air thick with moss and mystery. Whispers drift on the breeze, an invitation into the labyrinth. The first course arrives: ‘The Pale Man’s Feast’ Bone marrow on stone, rich with black truffle butter and sea salt. Decadent, earthy, and haunting, like dining at the eerie banquet of legend, accompanied by faint melodies and the clink of porcelain.
-

Scene Two
The Faun’s Garden
The next course: The Faun’s Garden. A woodland on a plate – edible moss, foraged mushrooms, and vibrant greens. Hidden within are bursts of flavour: wild herbs, truffle oil, saffron honey. Elderflower, citrus, and pickled pine surprise with every bite. Mysterious and layered, it’s as enigmatic as the Faun himself.
-

Scene Three
The Captain’s Sacrifice
A green glow fills the space as the main course arrives: ‘The Captain’s Sacrifice.’ Slow-roasted lamb with blood orange reduction and charred rosemary. Tender, smoky, and rich – its flavours echo the Captain’s world of power and shadow.
-

Scene Four
The Hidden Doors
Between courses, the labyrinth itself comes alive. Hidden doors invite you to explore, each releasing a scent: citrus groves, fresh rain, smouldering wood. But beware! Opening the Giant Toad’s door is not for the faint of heart.
-

Scene Five
Ofelia’s Dream
Dessert is the finale: ‘Ofelia’s Dream.’ A lavender-honey panna cotta crowned with spun sugar and gold-tipped flowers, delicate as a fairy’s garden. Break through the sugar shell to find berries and edible pearls, bursts of sweetness like hidden treasure.
-

Scene Six
The Passage
This feast is more than food. It’s a passage into Pan’s Labyrinth, where every taste, scent, and sound blur the line between dream and reality, indulgence and discovery.

Curated Destination Experiences
Where could these experiences take place?

Any immersive experience we produce is versatile and moveable, meaning we produce without limitation. If you wish to experience a culinary interpretation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book in Madhya Pradesh, in India’s stunning Bandhavgarh National Park and Kanha National Park, we will weave our magic to make this happen.
Similarly, if you’re a wine enthusiast and are looking to explore the grapes of California to French Polynesia, we have the best sommeliers the world has to offer. Perhaps afternoon tea for your wedding soiree but with an immersive twist? Marie Antoinette could never!
What It Costs
We like to start this conversation like Willy Wonka starts one of his recipes. There is no limit and we’ll go as far as you want us to, though everything comes at a price. So the honest answer here is the more your investment, the more playful we can be, the greater the variety the box will contain and the more innovation we can showcase. However, a more modest display never fails to impress, either. So, whether you’re investing pounds or a golden ticket, we’ll be here to support you.

Questions
Asked before every one of these
What is an immersive gastronomic world?
A food experience built around a story. For example, if you’re hosting a dinner, each course could be a chapter of a book, the place is the setting, and the cast, the scent and the sound belong to the same world as the food.
Which worlds can you build?
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Marie Antoinette and Versailles, Pan’s Labyrinth, Alice in Wonderland, an Agatha Christie murder mystery, or a story of your own. There really is no limit to imagination.
Where can these experiences take place?
Anywhere. Any immersive experience we produce is versatile and moveable, meaning we produce without limitation.
Do you do the catering yourselves?
Yes. The Events Meal is our own extra special catering service, and we dress the tables and build the sets around it, too. But we also love to work with other caterers, chefs and food operators.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes. We accommodate every type of cuisine and dietary requirement, with stringent processes for allergens and cultural preferences. Every request is taken extremely seriously.
Do we bring the story, or do you write it?
Either way works. Often the journey begins with a story you already love. For others it is entirely bespoke, developed from a brief.
Is it only dinner?
No. It can be a brunch, an afternoon tea, a multi-course tasting menu, or a single course inside a larger event.
