An immersive sci-fi or epic world is a story built at full size — the set made, the cast rehearsed, and the world holding together for as long as you are standing in it.
Some of what follows we have already built. The rest is designed, costed and ready to build. Where a journey is set out step by step, that is a plan we have written for a client to take up.
Countdown and skyrocket to the stars in the ultimate Hitchhiker’s inspired adventure across the galaxy, a fully immersive exploration of planets, solar systems and epic celestial wonders.
The Events Mill is an event design and production company. We are the agency responsible for the whole thing — the concept, the design, the build, the styling and props, the performance and the production — which is why the worlds on this page are places that did not exist until we made them.

Because everything about immersive is epic
Get ready to blast off. Join your cast of creative characters as they soar through galaxies, dodge space debris, and navigate universes where “normal” is just a setting on the washing machine. Take a wild ride through an established world, or build your own from scratch. So strap on your jetpack, fasten your space goggles, and let’s go.
Is there anything wilder than imagining an experience in space? A place so remote it makes your Wi-Fi excuses feel legit, yet so breathtaking that it makes you want to launch yourself straight into the cosmos. We’re talking windows to Tomorrowland, a sneak peek at Mars vacations, and moon condos in the making. So, hop aboard as we hitchhike across the galaxy.
And we have flown one: Wise Airlines, a galactic
space flight.
Brilliance doesn’t need to make sense, just ask the number 42! Hitchhike your way across the Galaxy to find out more...
In the wild world of creativity, logic is optional, and the best ideas are often the ones that leave us scratching our heads. The most memorable stories and iconic brands are born from sheer absurdity; they stand out because they’re uniquely, unapologetically weird. Without our quirks, we’d have no story to tell, no magic to share. Are you ready to create what’s in your head?
Epic worlds are theme park rides for the imagination. One minute you’re chatting with elves in Rivendell, the next you’re dodging meteors in a galaxy far, far away — enchanted forests and mystical castles to neon-lit spaceports and dragon-guarded fortresses. Each world is its own universe, with all the bells and whistles: immersive soundscapes, quirky characters, and props so intricate you’ll start checking for hidden portals.
It doesn’t just look cinematic. It feels cinematic.
We’re not just throwing up a few themed banners here; we’re crafting entire realities, complete with plot twists and cliffhangers, so guests feel like they’re leaping between alternate dimensions. It doesn’t just look cinematic — it feels cinematic, with new mysteries around every corner, and you as the main characters. Your wedding reception in Mirkwood, Middle Earth? Yep, we can do that for you.

Why settle for CGI when you can have special FX, make-up, hair and wardrobe that you can touch? Here, old-school rules.
A creature watching from behind a beech. The same garden
party.What that looks like
We’re talking prosthetics you can poke, wigs taller than Orthanc, and costumes that make you want to double-check if you’ve stepped into Middle-earth and are sharing canapés with an orc.
Painted pink and yellow, resting in the long grass. The same garden
party. Why we do it that way
Digital magic is fine, but there’s something about a creature in real latex that’s just chef’s kiss. Every detail is made by hand, no shortcuts.

Destination Experiences For Epic Journeys
Pack your elven cloak
We’re all about opening portals to the world’s most legendary places — and if that place happens to be Middle-earth, well, pack your elven cloak. We’ll bring Tolkien’s realms to life in the heart of New Zealand: cosied up in Bag End with a second breakfast, or meandering through Rivendell, serenaded by elves.
And yes, we can even negotiate with Smaug for a quick peek into his hoard, though he does tend to get a little heated if you linger.
New Zealand Though we’ll ensure you enjoy more luxury than Frodo and Samwise did.
The Featured Story
Feasts and Realms: A Game of Thrones Journey
A Song of Ice and Fire. One of the most epic franchises of today, a triumph of the small screen. Taking the characters of George R.R Martin and the drama of his pages, and fusing them with the filming locations from the hit TV show: an exploration of feasts and realms.
1
A Feast of Winterfell
Castle Ward, County Down
Guests arrive at Castle Ward, the filming location for Winterfell, greeted by our cast in authentic costume. The setting becomes the great hall: banners, torches, long wooden tables. A medieval feast follows — roasted meats, hearty vegetable stews, rustic breads, local cheeses, Northern Irish craft beers and meads — and as the meal goes on, the legends of House Stark are told.
2
The Kingsroad Adventure
The Dark Hedges
A guided walk along The Dark Hedges, under the beech trees that form a natural tunnel. There is a scavenger hunt for House sigils and props hidden among them, and local storytellers share the lore of Westeros and the making of the show.
3
The Wall Experience
Magheramorne Quarry
Life beyond The Wall, at the quarry where it was filmed. Dressed as the Night’s Watch, guests take archery, sword fighting and a training session led by professional instructors, then eat a Feast Beyond the Wall — smoked fish, root vegetables, oatcakes — around campfires, with tales of the White Walkers.
4
A Return to King’s Landing
Ballintoy Harbour, and the Red Keep
On the second day, the coast that became King’s Landing and the Iron Islands. A walk along Ballintoy Harbour, then a lavish Feast of the Seven Kingdoms at a scaled recreation of the Red Keep: roasted pork for House Lannister, fish for House Greyjoy, hearty pies for House Stark. Be careful of the dragons overhead.
Looking for more dragons, ice and fire? A fan of Game of Thrones? No one does it better than us. Think battles, tournaments, swords and a whole lot of drama. Which House will you join?
Oh, we do corporate events — but let’s get one thing straight: we’re not your standard-issue, PowerPoint-loving agency. Our clients come to us for all-inclusive, mind-blowing experiences, where every detail is meticulously designed, expertly planned, and executed with a touch of magic. We’ll stick to your brief and respect your budget, but don’t expect a cookie-cutter approach.

What It Costs
One of our key pillars is to always be authentic when we design, and an epic is built at the scale the story was told in, wherever it is set: the place, the cast, the costume, the creature made by hand. From £50,000 we can give you a compelling theme, the design to carry it and immersive entertainment running through it.
A fully immersive world — the place built, the cast rehearsed and the whole thing holding together around your guests, wherever we put it — is upwards of £500,000 and into the millions. That is where our real specialism lies, and at that level we can build several worlds inside one event and move your guests between them. Whatever you invest, we’ll have a solution for you.

The set, the props, the costume and the creature work are made for the story
rather than pulled off a shelf, which is why the world holds together when
somebody walks right up to it.
Who makes it
A cast, rehearsed
Actors are cast, rehearsed and directed, and they stay in the world for as long
as you are in it. That is the difference between a room dressed as a story and a
story you are standing inside.
Who you meet
Every dietary requirement
Wherever there is a feast there is a kitchen. Every cuisine and every dietary
requirement is accommodated, with stringent processes for allergens and cultural
preferences, and every request taken extremely seriously.

When To Start
Real places are held, not booked
A world we build in a space we control moves at our speed. A world
built at the places the story was filmed moves at theirs.
Twelve months or more
Right for a multi-day epic at real filming locations. Those places are shared with productions and with the public, and access is held, not booked.
Six to twelve months
Workable for a single world built somewhere we control — a space you already hold, a building we take over, or open ground we bring everything to.
Under six months
A different conversation. We will tell you honestly what is still possible at that point, and what is not.

In Their Words
We came to The Events Mill with a broad scope and an ambitious timeline. They immediately leaned in to help us imagine, design and deliver a spectacular performance for our Mission Days conference, in front of our global Wisers. The combination of delightful imagination and production mastery was extremely powerful, and helped us pull off a memorable ‘show’.
Tracey CorlettWise
Our annual event sees a raft of high-level executives from all over the world visit London for a few days for presentations and socials, and is traditionally finished with a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. Having Christopher on board from the offset for the finale was probably one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Questions
What people ask before they commit
What is an immersive sci-fi or epic world?
A whole reality, built to scale: the set, the cast, the soundscape and the story, so that the guests are inside it rather than looking at it.
Can you do more than one world in one event?
Yes, and it is one of our favourite things to build. Each world gets its own set, its own soundscape and its own characters, and the route between them is designed.
Do you use real filming locations?
Where the story lives somewhere real, yes. Our Game of Thrones journey runs at Castle Ward, The Dark Hedges, Magheramorne Quarry and Ballintoy Harbour, and we bring Tolkien’s realms to life in the heart of New Zealand.
Is the make-up and costume real, or digital?
Real, and made by hand — special FX, make-up, hair and wardrobe, built for the character rather than hired in.
Can it be a wedding?
Yes. A ceremony, a reception or a whole weekend can be set inside a world, and the wedding itself is run as carefully as the spectacle around it.
Do you plan corporate events?
Yes. We will work to your brief and your budget, and the result will not look like anybody else’s.
How far ahead should we start?
Twelve months or more for a multi-day epic at real filming locations, because that access is held rather than booked. Six to twelve months for a single world in a space we control.
